First Post

Hopefully this blog will live long for a while. Little about me in this first post. I am going to Carleton University to study Electrical Engineering. There, right now I am in my third year. The only thing I love the most and occupies most of my time is: reading. By the flow of time, the subjects of interest have changed- from dream to reality. However, my life is not limited to my classes and reading.

I have completed my eight-months internship with Alcatel-Lucent Inc, Canada as a Software Designer. Besides, I am heavily involved with web development. I have completed few successful projects. Few of them were based on Joomla!, WordPress, PhpBB, and Drupal. I am also slightly attached with open source community.

Besides of these, I am also involved with community activities. Currently I am serving as the Chair of IEEE Computer Society, Carleton University Student Branch. I served as the Technical Director of the society in 2007-2008 academic year. During these times, I have chaired first year programming contest IEEE CodeJam 2008, co-chaired Students Technology Awareness Conference 2008, and lead the Logistics team for IEEE Connects! 2007. In past, I have also served as President (LWS) for Notre Dame Science Club in my high school, Notre Dame College, Bangladesh 2003-2004.

Throughout all these time, I have met a lot of wonderful people in different areas. Most precious achievement is my experience. I also have been recognized for my contributions: awarded “IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarship” from IEEE in 2008, and “Science Club Man”, “Life Membership” from Notre Dame Science Club in year 2003-2004.

No, unfortunately my life is not that boring(!) I have hobbies as well. I spend times with my friends. Specially enjoying the summer. I love music. Learning to play guitar since last six years. Because of my busy time schedule, I hardly get time to practice. I don’t follow the Pop culture. Yes, I don’t watch TV. Neither have interest for the latest gadget, just because it is most slim. But any new cool technology, which meets my need, I love to grab one. I am also into little amateur photography. My existence in this world is very recent.
